This is a fun speaker to listen to. I've owned over 30 sets of speakers and I'm as pleased with this set as any of the ones I've owned at 3 or 4 times the price.
Sound quality - Subperb mid-range. Finally a speaker system that pumps out mid-range right out of the box. No "smiley-face" EQ sound. Good gutty mids. Guitars have the twang and toms have noticable punch. I LOVE the sound of this mid-range.
Bass- Decent to above average. Good mid bass sound but not much sub-bass. If you run a sub, this is the perfect speaker for you. If not it depends on your tastes. I give it a B-minus for low bass. I'd be happy running this set full range because the mids/highs sound so good. It does handle bass boost pretty well so its not a problem at all. Better than most.
Highs- The tweet is just a wee bit strong for me, but I think all tweets are too bright. The good thing about it is its not harsh or fatiquing at all. I'd say its one of the better high ends I've ever owned. It probably has more to do with my tweets being high in the door.
Bottom line - Its a fun sounding speaker thats very pleasing to listen to. I'm a JBL fan now. I'm re-enjoying music I'd gotten tired of.
